Brand Strategist
Our client is a boutique creative strategy consultancy specialising in brand development work for a range of emerging and household brand names. They’ve recently benefited from a management buyout which has injected fresh enthusiasm and expertise into their business.
Instead of the typical agency relationship, our client is now operating as a more influential client partner, driving very big, upstream brand orientated conversations, rather than simply reacting to agency briefs. This calls for people who are adept at dealing with senior level client contacts ie Marketing and Brand Directors. Steady year on year growth of 20% has created the need to strengthen their strategy department with new talent.
Some key responsibilities:
- Taking on first draft of the ‘big idea’ and/or how to organise the thinking
- Owning the lateral step from distilled insight into strategic idea
- Coherent creative briefing and managing collaboration
- Delivering significant presentations with confidence
- Owning client relationships for their smaller projects
- Taking overall responsibility with a holistic view of processes, deliverables, knowing when to seek support/guidance from Senior Strategists
- Owning elements within larger projects
- Creating your own opportunities
- Playing an active role, including driving specific key account actions, contributing to marketing content, spotting growth opportunities & drafting full proposals Building your own profile within and beyond the agency
- Looking for opportunities to write and share content externally, or speaking at agency events, starting to build your own personal style
- Sweating the small stuff for their clients
- Ability to dissect briefs and understand how to apply relevant tools, processes and ways of thinking to the challenge, sprinkling in a bit of your own magic
- Being curious about the wider world and applying that in a useful way
- Ultimately taking responsibility for your own development: Identifying and voicing any training you would like, keeping an eye on objectives and logging progress
To be considered for these roles you will need to be exceptional at the basics of organisation, a really safe pair of hands, as well as understanding the nuts and bolts of strategy. In this business, strategists are key relationship builders, creating trust with clients. These roles will suit self-starters who are obsessive about brands and brand strategy and looking to have intelligent, meaty conversations with brand owners.
Salary ranges are £30 – £40K for a junior strategist and £42 to £54K for a Strategist
