Senior Brand Consultant (Quantitative)

Our client is a leading brand consultancy. They define themselves as having five core competencies – branding, strategy, innovation, insight and capabilities. Whilst they have people with specialist skills and indeed this brief is for some one with strong quantitative research abilities, all of their consultancy team have a ‘broadband’ approach – willing and able to tackle a wide variety of projects. They are renowned as a cerebral consultancy – combining strategic rigour and creative flair. They have been described as having the structure and discipline of a management consultancy combined with the creativity of an advertising agency They are happy to consider applicants from a variety of background but are most interested in candidates who already have some experience of working in a brand consultancy or similar environment. The position We are looking for someone who can help our client to continue to build and develop their capability to deliver work class data/quantitative led solutions to the big strategic brand questions like segmentation, innovation and business modeling. Main Responsibilities Your primary role will be as a Project leader ensuring the profitable and client-acceptable outcomes of larger (six figure) and more strategically important client projects.In particular you are likely to be responsible for successfully managing and delivering global quantitative research-led projects (such as global market segmentations) including analysis and reporting.

Your aim must be to build your own practice and authority – so as to gain stand alone client trust and respect, and justify internally enhanced status within the business. You’ll be the kind of consultant who designs the questionnaires, designs the sampling and weighting, knows how to look at SPSS data and run cross tabs, understands the different types of segmentation approaches although does not necessarily run them – has a statistician in the background that owns that process. You’ll enjoy working with data and know how to check its right. You’ll enjoy using Excel and generally love quant. You are someone who understands how to design and run consumer segmentations based upon needs attitudes and values and also understands how to research brands quantitatively. It would be helpful if you also enjoy working on the before and after bits of the project, where you get to help the client design their project needs and then implement and understand their segmentation.
