Research and Insights Manager

The Company

You will be working for an internationally recognised brand leader with an outstanding reputaion for personal development.

Job Purpose

Working within our client’s Strategic Development Department, your key role will be to develop and champion actionable insights which will support and drive key business decision making.

As such you will be working on a varity of projects and ensuring that briefs meet the needs of the business, as well as selecting appropriate research methodolgies and agencies as well as the management of the projects to debrief within the timescales and quality agreed.

In addition, you will have ownership of large, complex data sets. A significant part of your role will be analysing and interrogating these data sets to find trends and test hypotheses. As a result, you must have experience of working with large data sets and using statistical tehcniques to explore the data and test hypotheses.You will need to have experience of packaging these insights (eg Powerpoint or Word) and communicating them to the broader business.

Qualifications and Experience

Preferably a market research qualification with experience in research project management • An understanding of when different research techniques should be used and the strengths and limitations of each technique and aware of recent trends in techniques. • Ability to work with internal and external clients to construct effective research studies to assist in delivering against specific business objectives, including the ability to translate ‘jargon’ into easily understood language. • Experienced in managing external suppliers and negotiating contracts. • Confidence using statistical software packages (e.g. SPSS) to explore and find insights from large, complex databases from quantitative research • Confident in sourcing secondary data (e.g. EC, government, UN publications, etc) both on and off-line.

Insight dissemination • Excellent understanding of business strategy and the role that research plays within that • Experience in translating research findings into compelling arguments and actionable business recommendations • Excellent at communicating above arguments and recommendations both visually and orally, in particular • Confident in using both MS Word and PowerPoint to communicate clearly and effectively • Confidence in presenting insights and recommendations to audiences of all levels
