Our client saw a need for a growth strategy business that could deliver on the needs of senior clients for robust new business opportunities. Most of the work they are asked to do is proposition development, the scoping and identification of new business opportunities, and their accompanying business models and business cases.
Their most powerful sell, versus other strategic growth consultancies, comes from the marriage of creativity / innovation with the strategic and analytical rigour which clients routinely expect from the straight strategy agencies. They are trying to develop a unique market offering that combines both strategy and innovation. Their target clients are CEO/Board-level executives and corporate incubation units who are responsible for identifying, evaluating and delivering future growth opportunities.
The Opportunity:- The team has already brought in several significant clients and has delivered on these assignments. They are on course to land substantial fee assignments in 2008 and have huge potential contacts/introductions from within the Group. The demand is now for a leader who can manage, develop and help grow the team globally. There is an ambition to build a 30 strong consultancy team with a mixture of analysts, consultants and senior consultants. They are looking for a leader of the team, who can provide direction, experience and inspiration. This person will take full ownership of the P & L and all people strategy, working alongside the original founders.
Experience:- Brief overview of full JD:- • Proven track record of winning consultancy business projects between £250K to £1.5M. This will include all aspects of the deal lifecycle; pitching, negotiating and closing. • Experience in building and managing consultancy teams, 10-30 people • Significant experience within a top management, strategy or growth strategy consultancy. • Preferably an MBA from a leading business school
Knowledge:- • First-hand experience with a methodology/approach for identifying and validating new business opportunities (and the willingness to combine it with their innovation approach) You are likely to be extremely articulate and able to take complex ideas and make them simple and compelling. You are likely to be highly ambitious, energetic and engaging. Confident, accomplished and yet modest/humble and up for learning more
