Director Brand Strategy USA - Brand Consultancy
Our client is a leading international brand consultancy in its own right and part of a global network. They have a highly talented team of practitioners with backgrounds in client side marketing, research, advertising and design and service an extensive blue chip client list.
They have a presence in New York, and as a result of recent new business wins and a desire to build a strong US presence, they wish to appoint a Director of Brand Strategy to join the two other members of the leadership team.
The US business has some strong client relationships and is supported by the rest of the group in terms of IPR, case studies, offer development and seconding of staff. Senior Group management also assist all overseas businesses.
What we are looking for
Diector Brand Strategy : Key Responsibilities
• Lead the brand strategy offer for our client’s USA practice – the main areas they concentrate on are positioning, portfolio review and architecture • Win new clients by convincing them that our client can help them to grow their brands • Adapt their brand strategy tools to the US market and develop new tools where relevant • Lead all the key stages of brand strategy projects, working closely with client contacts. • Train client teams on brand strategy • Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients • Develop and contribute to ideas and proposals • Co-facilitation of workshops • Lead and contribute to project meetings (e.g. data merging, creative sessions etc) • Pull ideas together to produce inspiring de-briefs/presentations • Keep all relevant parties updated on status of project
Director Brand Strategy : Skills, Qualifications and Experience
• Significant experience of working in a successful marketing strategy consultancy, innovation consultancy, advertising planning department or client side brand strategy role • Experience working in US markets • Some consultancy experience if career has been mainly client side • Could be currently working in another country, but willing to re-locate to New York and have current permission to work in USA • Strong academics including degree from top flight university • Experience of developing and implementing major brand strategy projects in the US market (winning projects valued $300k plus per annum) • The ability to demonstrate delivery of strategic brand recommendations and business growth ideas. • Highly developed presentation skills: Creating very visual project outputs and delivering presentations in an engaging and inspiring way. • Project management and organisational skills • Excellent communication and influencing skills • The ability to think laterally and creatively • Good attention to detail • Experienced in working in a small team, with a start-up mindset would be also useful
